Bio: I went to medical school at Mizzou and received an amazing education. During that time, I was able to work with the family medicine program and witness how happy all the residents and faculty were. I wasn't sure I wanted to stay here, but after doing my away rotations and going on interviews, I realized how special Mizzou really is! I knew that if I trained at MU, I would receive a strong foundation, as well as be able to mold my training towards my specific interests.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, working on house projects, playing soccer or volleyball, and occasionally knitting/crocheting.

Bio: I chose family medicine because I want to help individuals of all ages. Incorporating hands-on procedures into my practice is important to me, as well as building long term relationships with people. In family medicine, I’ll be able to include three things that interest me in my future: obstetrics, geriatrics and rural medicine.

I came to Mizzou because its program trains family physicians to work anywhere. My goal is to practice in a rural community, and MU, by giving me opportunities to train in a rural clinic, along with opportunities to learn in an academic health center, will prepare me for that goal. Columbia is ideally located between (and an easy road trip to) my and my husband’s hometowns!

When not working, I am with my husband and our families. We enjoy going to the lake, horseback riding, and playing with nieces and nephews. I like playing pick-up basketball games, outdoor activities and card games.

Bio: I'm originally from St. Louis, but for the past eight years, Columbia has become my home. I'm working towards becoming a "Triple Tiger," as I attended Mizzou for undergrad, medical school and now residency.

I became interested in family medicine while working at MedZou, our student-run free clinic that serves the uninsured in mid-Missouri. I discovered that as a family doctor, I’d be able to form long-term relationships with patients; provide holistic and preventative care, and serve as a patient advocate. Within family medicine, I’m particularly interested in women’s health, global medicine and caring for underserved populations. My close relationship with the family medicine department throughout medical school was instrumental in my decision to pursue residency training here. I’m excited to learn from and work alongside amazing family physicians.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and traveling. I’ve recently started dabbling in Latin dancing - fun!

Bio: Family medicine was an easy choice for me! I love treating patients of all ages … from new babies all the way through adulthood. Being a family physician is such an honor because I get to be part of so many different lives and get to know and help entire families through life's different stages.

I grew up in central Illinois, but Missouri has always had a special place in my heart. From visiting St. Louis often while growing up, to attending Truman State in Kirksville, I have many fond memories of the state and of Columbia. During my interview, I immediately felt welcomed and like I was part of a family. MU is a perfect fit!

Bio: As a family physician, I can provide the full scope of services and care for patients of all ages. I look forward to delivering continuous care to patients and families as I work with them to achieve their health goals. After residency, I plan to complete a sports medicine fellowship, then work in a primary care clinic.

I grew up on a farm near Wellington, MO, and came to Mizzou for undergrad and medical school. I enjoy living in mid-Missouri where I’m close to family and friends. I chose MU Family Medicine because it’s one of the best residency programs in the country, and faculty members here are outstanding. At MU, I can build my outpatient practice in a rural clinic while training in an academic health center.

When not at work, I’m with my fiancé, Kelly, and our dog, Reese. I like being outdoors, watching sports, fishing, golfing, trying new restaurants, and visiting family/friends.

Bio: I was born and raised in Fort Smith, AR, but came to Missouri to attend medical school at ATSU, Kirksville. Since then, Missouri has been my second home. I chose MU Family Medicine Residency because of the program’s stellar national reputation. Also, I knew it offered me the flexibility and ability to tailor my training to become the physician I strive to be. Since the day I interviewed here and met the staff, I knew this was a great place to learn and grow.

I played baseball in college, and from this experience grew my desire to pursue a sports medicine fellowship after residency. My goal is to work at an academic institution and university much like Mizzou, practicing and teaching sports medicine and family medicine.

I am a diehard Arkansas Razorbacks, Texas Rangers and St. Louis Blues fan. My hobbies include watching and playing sports, hiking, fishing, and lounging with my bluetick coonhound, Porter.

Bio: I chose family medicine because it provides me the best path to achieve my career goals. Not only do I want to expand my medical knowledge and skills in patient care, I also want to pursue opportunities that allow me to promote diversity in medicine, care for underserved populations, and address public health issues.

After attending SNMA's AMEC, where I met Mizzou representatives, I decided that MU was a great fit for me and my future as a family physician. Later on, after visiting Mizzou Family Medicine first hand, I knew I needed to experience the program, the people, and the culture that is MU Family Medicine.

In my spare time, my wife and I like to cook, exercise, watch all sports (especially football and basketball), as well as relax and enjoy life.

I hope to work in a federally qualified health center with lots of variety in my day … from prenatal care, to behavioral health, to pediatrics.

MU Family Medicine’s commitment to improving the health of Missourians, particularly training physicians to meet the needs of rural communities, really impressed us. As a part of such a large department, it seemed that there would be limitless opportunities to pursue my varied interests.

Bio: I decided on family medicine while rotating here during medical school. I learned that family physicians care for a broad scope of patients and are dedicated to building a practice where doctor and patient work as a team to achieve best health outcomes. I am so excited to be in family medicine.

As a medical student, I saw firsthand how amazing MU family physicians are at providing compassionate, evidence-based care. This program felt like family to me, so I decided MU was where I wanted to complete my training. My husband is also a die-hard Mizzou Tigers fan, so that was a plus!

My husband and daughter mean the world to me! If I have spare time, I’m usually spending it with them. We love to be outside and like to visit family and friends in St. Louis. I also enjoy everything makeup and hair styling, baking, cooking and traveling!

Bio: I’ve known since 8th grade that I wanted to be a doctor. A career that allowed me to help and care for people appealed to me. When considering specialties as a medical student, I realized that only family medicine would let me be there for my patients in all the ways I wanted to.

My decision to come to MU was based on two factors. One, I knew that the program was strong and would train me to become a competent, compassionate family physician. And two, I experienced an incredible sense of family throughout my interview day; I wanted to train in an environment that offered that same kind of friendly, nurturing environment.

My family are avid readers and love sharing stories with each other. I enjoy playing board games and sand volleyball with my friends. I’m excited to see what new hobbies I develop with my fellow residents.
