At the 12th Annual Meeting of the Lumbar Spine Research Society in Chicago, senior resident Dr. Felipe Ituarte presented a poster exhibit displaying his research project co-authored with orthopaedic faculty Drs. Goldstein, Choma, and Nourbakhsh.

MU Orthopaedic Medical Mission to India

Jay Bridgeman

Jay Bridgeman, MD, second from left, was honored with the Barry J. Gainor Faculty Teaching award in 2018. Jimi Cook, PhD, DVM; Marilyn Littlejohn; Bob Littlejohn, MD; and Steve Messier, PhD, pose for a photo after Comparative Orthopaedics Day. The Littlejohn family has supported the Comparative Orthopaedics Day conference since 2004, allowing us to bring world-class research speakers to Mizzou. Messier, the director of the J.B Snow Biomechanics Laboratory at Wake Forest University, served as the 2018 Littlejohn Family Distinguished Lecturer.

Dr. Cook congratulates Dr. and Mrs. Gainor at the 2016 resident graduation dinner for awards of appreciation given to Dr. Gainor by the residents and faculty honoring his retirement. Dr. Gainor holds a model of the departmental logo that he designed in 1983.

Upon retiring after 36 years as Secretary-Treasurer, Dr. Gainor joins his fellow UMOA co-founder Dr. Allen in holding their mutual portraits that will be installed in the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute in 2016.
