The Department of Orthopaedics provides rotating students with a first-class learning experience and comprehensive exposure to the department, the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and the city of Columbia, Missouri.

While on service, students have the opportunity to fully participate in the clinical process including spending time in the operating room, the clinics at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and with the residents on rounds and during consults. Weekly educational conferences provide students learning opportunities and the ability to get a glimpse of the outstanding curriculum and didactics.

The facilities at the University of Missouri are second to none. The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) is one of the best orthopaedic facilities in the country. This free-standing hospital houses everything needed for providing exceptional orthopaedic care. MOI has its own operating rooms, clinics, inpatient rooms, radiology and physical therapy, as well as faculty and resident workspace.Our patient care tower houses an orthopaedic inpatient unit and additional operating rooms.
