Researchers and students at the University of Missouri School of Medicine have many opportunities to have their work recognized through awards sponsored by the school.

During the annual Health Sciences Research Day, students and faculty members alike are recognized for their contributions.

The Dorsett L. Spurgeon, MD, Distinguished Medical Research Award is presented annually to an MU School of Medicine researcher for outstanding accomplishments early in his or her career.

Three Dean’s Awards are presented to health sciences students at Health Sciences Research Day for the most outstanding research conducted by trainees from the schools of nursing, health professions, and medicine.

An Excellence in Research Mentoring Award is presented to a University of Missouri School of Medicine faculty member for "Excellence in Research Mentoring" in clinical and/or basic science research.

Awards also are presented to students for Outstanding Medical Student Research Publications.
