Your obstetrics and gynecology experience will consist of seven weeks. This rotation is organized so that you will spend 1 week on each of the following: L&D Day Shift, L&D Night Shift, Gyn Clinic, Gyn OR, GynOnc Clinic, and GynOnc OR. Please note that the OB rotation does schedule weekend shifts.
Your time will be divided between the wards, clinics, OR, L&D, and lecture/SIM sessions. In addition to your inpatient experience, outpatient clinical care will be a part of your education.
Examinations
On the last Friday of the rotation (unless otherwise scheduled) a National Board of Medical Examiners Clinical Exam will be given remotely online.

Textbooks
You will also have access to various books in the OB/Gyn Library as well as other resources available on Canvas. No textbook purchases are needed by students.

APGO uWise
MU has an active subscription to the APGO uWISE self-assessment tool which allows you to have a personal subscription while you are in the OB/GYN clerkship rotation. The APGO Undergraduate Web-Based Interactive Self-Evaluation (uWISE) is a 600-question interactive self-exam designed to help medical students acquire the necessary basic knowledge in obstetrics and gynecology. You will be provided with voucher code at the beginning of the rotation to receive access.
Canvas
All material needed for the clerkship is located on Canvas.
On the first day of the block, you will be given access to the OB/Gyn Clerkship material. Click on the Canvas link and use your pawprint (same user id and password you use to access your email) to log into the system.

Orientation is held the first Monday of the block at 8:00 a.m. in the lower level of Pershing Hall.
