Bio

Mateen is a computer science doctoral student at the University of Missouri, Columbia. His research interest is in the application of machine learning and deep learning models to healthcare data. He is also a member of the scalable data science laboratory at Mizzou. Mateen presently works as a graduate research assistant where he applies deep learning models for skin lesion analysis.

Bio

Deepika is a health informatics doctoral student at the University of Missouri Institute for Data Science and Informatics (MUIDSI). She completed her master’s degree in health informatics and health administration at the University of Missouri in 2018. Deepika studies expansion and policy changes related to telemedicine during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. She also works full time as a senior business intelligence analyst for the university. She previously served in various positions at the University of Missouri with Missouri Telehealth Network and the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Lydiah Fridah Mpyisi

Lydiah Fridah Mpyisi

Bio

Lydiah Fridah Mpyisi graduated from the Roanoke College Honors Program with a degree in biology and environmental sciences with a minor in chemistry in 2016. After college, she spent five years working as a medical scribe, research assistant, and compliance specialist at the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Va. and the Virgnia Commonwealth University (VCU) Massey Cancer Center in Richmond. She is currently a medical student at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, where she has done extensive research on the utility of the Show-me ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcome) program regarding improving patient outcomes and medical education. Her scholarly interests include preventive medicine, medical education and health literacy. She is committed to improving patient outcomes by optimizing existing resources and programs like the Show-me ECHO to provide simple solutions to complex problems in healthcare and medical education. Mpyisi enjoys learning about medicine and getting a better understanding of the “why” behind medical advice and sharing knowledge with the public in an easy-to-understand language through her YouTube channel. She has published several videos on medical topics that inspire the general public’s curiosity in “connecting the medical dots,” and becoming a proactive member of their healthcare team. She believes that improving the health literacy of the public will empower patients to take charge of their health, and thus contribute to improving patient outcomes and promoting preventive medicine.

Olabode (Ola) Ogundele

Bio

Ola is a health informatics doctoral student at the University of Missouri Institute for Data Science and Informatics (MUIDSI). His research focuses on the use of information technologies in improving health access and outcomes of underserved and vulnerable populations. Ola assists with data science and informatics technique applications in the evaluation of the Missouri Telehealth Network’s Show-Me ECHO (Extension for Community Health Outcomes) program. In his leisure time, he likes playing soccer, watching the news or some western movies, or reading/learning about different countries and cultures.

Bio

Fatlinda Osmani is a second-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Healthcare Administration degree as well as Graduate Certificates in Health Informatics and Project Management. She holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma certification. She graduated in May 2022 from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in health sciences with an emphasis in rehabilitation sciences, minors in physiology and human development & family sciences, and a certificate in multicultural studies. In 2018, while still in high school, she earned an associate of arts degree from Crowder College. She plans to pursue a doctoral program when she completes her master's program in May 2024. Coming from two immigrant parents, she values her education greatly and intends to one day utilize it to contribute to the discovery of a pediatric cancer cure.
