The Center for Medical Epidemiology and Population Health (CMEPH) has the expertise and infrastructure to design, implement, and manage patient experience and insurance consumer data collection and research for hospitals, hospital systems, clinics, and insurance providers.

In 2025, CMEPH became certified to conduct data collection for the 2024 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HEDIS®CAHPS®) survey, demonstrating our commitment to nationally recognized standards.

CMEPH designs and implements complex sampling frames or works within established sampling structures to ensure representative and statistically valid samples. Our team supports single- and multimodal survey administration across mail, telephone, web, and SMS platforms. CMEPH passed, and excelled, at the rigorous testing standards for the sample generation and sample database submission required to become a NCQA-certified HEDIS®CAHPS® vendor. CMEPH has decades of data collection and survey experience in reaching both targeted and hard-to-reach populations.

For mail-based data collection, CMEPH manages internally and collaborates with experienced direct mail and printing partners specializing in CAHPS data collection. We provide scannable barcode systems, mailing, survey-scanning, and centralized database management within an integrated project software environment.

Telephone data is collected using WinCati Solutions WinCati Manager software for computer assisted-telephone interviewing (CATI), along with WinCati Solutions Ci3 and Sensus software for instrument design and management.

Web-based surveys and data management are supported through Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) and Qualtrics platforms. SMS text messaging can be deployed for recruitment and support purposes, including multimodal or single mode patient experience engagement.
