Laura Morris, MD, MSPH, professor of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and chief medical officer-ambulatory at MU Health Care, has been accepted into the Executive Leadership in Health Care (ELH) Program, a fellowship track of the prestigious Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program.
ELAM is a competitive, year-long fellowship run by the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and is dedicated to helping women leaders develop the professional and personal skills needed to lead and manage in the modern health care environment.
The ELH track targets individuals who possess administrative experience in personnel and budget management, who are established experts in their domain and seek to advance in hospital leadership roles.
“The Mizzou School of Medicine has had an impressive history of ELAM and ELH fellows, and we couldn’t be prouder of Dr. Morris on this tremendous honor,” said Richard J. Barohn, MD, executive vice chancellor for health affairs and the Hugh E. and Sarah D. Stephenson Dean of the School of Medicine. “We all benefit from the knowledge and experience leaders like Dr. Morris gain through ELH, which ensures our academic health system continues to grow and thrive.”
