Raghuraman Kannan, PhD, Curators’ Distinguished Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, was recently inducted into the 2026 Class of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows.
Kannan was nominated, reviewed and elected by peers and members of the College of Fellows, “for pioneering contribution in smart biomaterials for healthcare delivery.” He was inducted along with 175 colleagues who made up this year’s class of AIMBE College of Fellows.
"I’m truly honored to be inducted as an AIMBE Fellow and this recognition means a great deal to me,” said Kannan. “I’m deeply thankful to the School of Medicine, our leadership and the entire Mizzou community for their support and encouragement. I look forward to continuing our shared mission of advancing biomedical engineering together."
Election to the AIMBE College of Fellows is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to medical and biological engineers, comprised of the top two percent of engineers in these fields.
