Nathan Bresette, a doctoral student in the Informatics PhD Program through the MU Institute for Data Science and Informatics (MUIDSI), an interdisciplinary program supported by the University of Missouri School of Medicine, recently joined nearly 50 other teams of undergraduate and graduate students from across campus at the Entrepreneur Quest (EQ) competition.
Hosted by Mizzou’s Division of Research, Innovation & Impact, the EQ program helps students launch and grow business ventures while at Mizzou. Bresette’s venture, “RgentAI,” won top honors among 10 finalists and he will now receive a $15,000 investment.
“Winning the EQ competition is truly a blessing, as it represents hard work paying off and also reflects the incredible support I’ve received from my co-founder Dane Winterboer, my parents and the Ai-Ling Lin, PhD, Lab throughout my PhD journey,” said Bresette. “The first-place prize money will go towards advancing RgentAI, specifically for customer acquisition. I’ll focus on targeted ads and traveling to RStudio conferences.”
