Preston Wolfe, a PhD student with Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics, presented his research on the “Evaluation of Serum and Urine Biomarkers for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip” to science and math majors at his alma mater, William Woods University in Fulton, MO in February.

Wolfe focused his 50-minute talk on his background as a graduate research assistant, shared his knowledge on the pathobiology of developmental hip dysplasia, and the methods and results of his research. The speaking invitation was part of William Woods University’s annual Student Performance Review event where graduate students who are close to defending their dissertation receive the opportunity to present their research and meet with current undergraduate students.

Wolfe graduated from William Woods University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science as a Biology Pre-Med Concentration Major. He was also a student-athlete on the Track & Field Team during his time there.

Wolfe is scheduled to defend his dissertation with the University of Missouri Department of Orthopaedic Surgery on March 24.
