Students Receive Prestigious MU 1839 Award

1839 Awards

Four students with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Thompson Laboratory for Regenerative Orthopaedics were recipients of the prestigious Mizzou ’18 and Mizzou ’39 award ceremony in March.

Lasun Oladeji, MD, Year 4 Resident Physician and PhD candidate, and Abdoulie Njai, medical student, were recognized through the Mizzou ’18 award. Ali Bhatty, biology and psychology major, and Umer Malick, biology major, were recognized through the Mizzou ’39 award.

The awards are given out by the Mizzou Alumni Association Student board, which recognizes 18 outstanding graduate students and 39 undergraduate seniors each year. Alumni are chosen to receive this award based on their academic achievement, leadership and service to Mizzou and the community.

Among the faculty recognized through these awards are James Cook, DVM, PhD, Director for the TLRO and Aaron Stoker, PhD, Associate Director for the TLRO.
