School of Medicine Staff Members Awarded for Exceptional Service

The University of Missouri School of Medicine Staff Advisory Committee recognized exemplary staff members in a virtual awards ceremony on May 27.

The Child Health team of Melissa Barbe, Jeadawn Cropp, Karen Kelly, Hope Anderson, Katie Hildreth, Mallory Renick, Sala Palaniappan and Landon Jones was honored for its resourcefulness and problem-solving and for always exceeding expectations.

The Outstanding Staff Award: Jen Doty, MD, the medical student clinical program coordinator from the Department of Surgery was honored for her mentorship of medical students. Students recognized her honesty, work ethic and generosity of time and knowledge.

“She is quick to respond and always has our best interests in mind. You can tell she cares and wants us succeed,” said a student who nominated Doty. “She exemplifies all of Mizzou Med's mission, vision and values and is considered vital to our program.”

Doty received 75 Kudos points worth $75.

The Excellence in Teamwork Award: The Child Health team of Melissa Barbe, Jeadawn Cropp, Karen Kelly, Hope Anderson, Katie Hildreth, Mallory Renick, Sala Palaniappan and Landon Jones was honored for its resourcefulness and problem-solving and for always exceeding expectations.

“Each team member came into their position with little to no guidance or processes, and each one jumped in, learned and did what they needed to do to get the job accomplished,” said their nominator. “This team exemplifies the values of excellence, integrity and responsibility.”      

The team won breakfast or lunch of their choice up to $100.
