Shenker has served as the Department of Neurology’s residency program director for the past six years. Senior neurology resident Aditya Boddu, MD, nominated Shenker, describing him as a “guiding light” in the department and a “jovial and witty wordsmith” with “depth and insight that captivates his audience.”

Shenker’s nomination also included a letter of recommendation from department chair Pradeep Sahota, MD

“It is a privilege to have such a distinguished clinician, teacher and mentor for our residents,” Sahota said. “Above all, Dr. Shenker cares about our residents as if they are his own family.”

Shenker will be presented with the award in April at the American Academy of Neurology annual meeting in Toronto.
